  • Cleans residue, grime, and carbon deposits.
  • Reduce friction between moving parts.
  • Shields against corrosion, rust, and wear.

Directions:

Using an CHLP All-In-One Cleaner, Lubricant, and Protectant (CLP) for firearms is a straightforward process. Follow these steps to ensure your firearm is properly maintained:

Materials Needed

  • CLP (Cleaner, Lubricant, Protectant)
  • Cleaning patches
  • Bore brush
  • Cleaning rod or pull-through bore snake
  • Microfiber cloth or cleaning rag
  • Cotton swabs
  • Gloves (recommended)

Instructions

1. Ensure Safety

  • Unload the Firearm: Make sure the firearm is unloaded. Remove the magazine and check the chamber to ensure there are no rounds present.
  • Disassemble the Firearm: Follow the manufacturer’s instructions to disassemble the firearm. Typically, this involves removing the slide, barrel, and other accessible components.

2. Clean the Barrel and Bore

  • Apply CHLP: Attach a cleaning patch to the cleaning rod or bore snake, and apply a generous amount of CHLP to the patch.
  • Run the Patch Through the Barrel: Insert the cleaning rod or bore snake through the breech end (chamber) of the barrel and pull it through to the muzzle end. Repeat this process a few times to loosen and remove carbon, fouling, and debris.
  • Use a Bore Brush: Attach a bore brush to the cleaning rod, apply a small amount of CHLP, and run it through the barrel several times to scrub away stubborn deposits.
  • Final Patches: Run clean, dry patches through the barrel until they come out clean.

3. Clean Other Components

  • Apply CHLP to Other Parts: Apply a small amount of CHLP to a microfiber cloth or cleaning rag and wipe down all other metal components, including the slide, frame, and magazine.
  • Use Cotton Swabs: For hard-to-reach areas, use cotton swabs dipped in CHLP to clean.

4. Lubricate Moving Parts

  • Apply CHLP Sparingly: Apply a small amount of CHLP to the moving parts of the firearm, such as the slide rails, trigger mechanism, and any other areas specified by the manufacturer.
  • Spread Evenly: Use a clean cloth or your finger (wear gloves if preferred) to spread the CHLP evenly over these parts. The goal is to have a thin, even layer.

5. Protect and Reassemble

  • Wipe Down the Exterior: Apply a light coating of CHLP to the exterior surfaces of the firearm to protect against rust and corrosion. Wipe off any excess with a clean cloth.
  • Reassemble the Firearm: Follow the manufacturer’s instructions to reassemble the firearm. Ensure all parts are properly aligned and securely in place.
  • Function Check: Perform a function check to ensure the firearm operates correctly after reassembly.

6. Store the Firearm

  • Store in a Safe Place: Store the firearm in a cool, dry place, preferably in a gun safe or a locked cabinet.

Tips

  • Use Sparingly: Less is often more when applying CHLP. Excess lubricant can attract dirt and debris.
  • Regular Maintenance: Regularly clean and lubricate your firearm after use to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Follow Manufacturer’s Recommendations: Always follow the specific cleaning and maintenance instructions provided by the firearm manufacturer.

By following these steps, you can effectively clean, lubricate, and protect your firearm using CHLP.
