11/30/21 – This is a nice example of an Erfurt K98 that was issued to the Imperial German Army in 1918. It is mostly matching except for the stock and the front sight. The bolt is un-numbered. It has the proper Imperial military proofs and Erfurt proofs throughout. The chamber is double-dated “1918” and”1920″, indicating the gun was reworked after WW1, likely for re-issue to a police force. Comes with a period-correct leather sling. Generally, there is minor wear along the high edges and tiny dings throughout. While there isn’t a ton of actual finish loss, there is noticeable brown patina covering the gun. The stock is nice but has noticeable dings, dents, and scratches throughout. The bore has weak rifling with heavy oxidation and minor pitting throughout.
