Description
1/16/23 – This is a rare Modified 1902 Type Papa Nambu, produced by TGE (Tokyo Gas & Electric) for the Imperial Japanese Navy. Naval production was only about 3,600 pistols, which were reportedly issued to the Special Naval Landing Forces and saw action in both WWI & WWII. From the serial on this one, we believe it was made in the 1910’s. This one has retained around 93% of its bluing. While there isn’t much actual finish loss, There is heavy pitting and oxidation on the grip straps, some light pin-pricking and light spotty oxidation on both sides of the frame, and some splotchy discoloration along the barrel. Very nice matching-numbered wood grips. Comes with a mismatched magazine. The rifling in the bore is slightly worn with some light pin-pricking here and there.
