6/10/22 – This is a rare Nazi Mauser P.38 with ‘svw 45’ slide code, indicating it was made at the French Mauser factory but issued and accepted into the German military. There were only ~7,800 of this variation produced with dual-tone finish. It is all matching and has the proper “Waffen 135” military acceptance proofs throughout. The phosphate is difficult to rate, but it looks like there is very little finish loss – just spotty oxidation and discoloration throughout. The barrel has been refinished with noticeable pitting under the bluing throughout. Comes with proper black plastic Mauser grips – there are light scratches throughout, and they have been cut down. Comes with a period-correct jvd magazine. Excellent, shiny bore. De-cocker is functional.
