Description
1/17/23 – This is a rare Springfield Armory Model 1911 issued to the US military during WW1. It is “United States Property” marked, has the proper Springfield Eagle on the right side of the slide, and has flaming bomb military acceptance proofs. It has a correct Springfield barrel, and the small parts are “S” marked. The gun has lost much of its original finish. The majority of the finish loss is on the grip straps and along the slide. Light spotty oxidation throughout, and light brown patina on the slide and grip straps. Fitted with slightly worn period-correct wood grips and comes with one post-war magazine. The condition of the bore is poor – the rifling is almost completely worn with minor pitting throughout.
