1/13/23 – This is a scarce example of an original Springfield M1 Garand with early six-digit serial.Made in May of 1942, this rifle has about 95% of the original finish with most of the wear on the trigger group, and a little more on the gas tube.GHS inspector mark on side of stock with crossed cannons cartouche, and a circle P proof on wrist.No cracks or chips in the wood.Barrel is also dated to May of 1942.The bore has good rifling but a little frost in the grooves.Muzzle reading is a 3, TE is a 2.Comes with canvas sling.
