Description
THUNDER BEAST’S COMPACT MASTERPIECE
The Dominus features best-in-class accuracy, offers better dB reduction than the Ultra 7, and is constructed from full titanium to keep the suppressor as light as possible. This is all wrapped into a compact package, with more mounting options than competing silencers.
Compared to the Ultra 7, the Dominus is shorter, but slightly larger in diameter. This, combined with the tubeless design, enables Thunder Beast to reduce its size while increasing internal volume. The Dominus comes in at 126dB with a 20″ 308 at the shooter’s ear, putting it between the Ultra 7 and Ultra 9 in terms of performance. While a larger diameter than the Ultra series, it comes in at the same weight per volume. At 6.95″ long, it only weighs 9.6 ounces, making it the lightest suppressor in class. For those folks who think weight doesn’t matter, they’ve never experienced fatigue from extra weight during a hunt, or a larger POI shift between suppressed and unsuppressed. TBAC’s ultra-light titanium cans are popular with PRS shooters, defense professionals, and avid hunters for a reason.
The SR (Secondary Retention) mounting system adds a slight increase in weight and complexity, but also provides an additional layer of security. Designed for the defense professional, SR versions are best suited for those who may be in adverse conditions or wish for extra security for their silencer. The muzzle device and mounting system will also allow the SR version to be used with a more aggressive firing schedule.
CAPITOL ARMORY’S OPINION
Thunder Beast is largely popular due to their extremely lightweight suppressors. For years, they have been the go-to for precision shooters and hunters who value having the lightest suppressor in class on the end of their rifles. For many people, the Ultra 7 was the perfect length, but the Ultra 9 sounded better. There was a trade-off. Shooters had to decide if they wanted top-tier performance or compact size. The Dominus was developed, and that decision is a thing of the past. It’s slightly shorter than the Ultra 7 but sounds better. It’s between the Ultra 7 and 9 in terms of dB reduction, but beats both of them in length and weight.
